Aamir Khan had promoted the film extensively in China for around 10 days. In spite of Aamir Khan's heavy promotional campaign for Thugs of Hindostan in China, the film has failed to take good opening at the ticket window.

The collections till 4 PM IST (6:30 PM China Time) is around 0.9 Million USD. The final first day numbers will be in the range of 1.5-1.6 Million USD at the box office. The numbers are lower than the opening day number of Dangal. The film is the third biggest opener of Aamir Khan in China after Secret Superstar and Dangal. Among the recent Indian films released in China, the numbers are in the similar range as Padman but higher than Hichki and 102 Not Out.

The film will be a heavy loss making proposition for the Chinese distributions because going by the trend at the box office, the film might end up barely recovery only 30-35% of its total expenditure in China. The producers and Aamir Khan have made huge money out of the deal but the distributors will suffer humongous losses on this film. This will definitely end as the first disaster of Aamir Khan in China as all his films have been successful at the box office.

The film is not going to change the popularity of Aamir Khan in the Middle Kingdom. He is the only Indian star to have a huge following in that country and that is going to remain consistent even after the failure of Thugs of Hindostan.

Post China run, the worldwide gross collections of the film will cross the 300 crore mark finally. It will be interesting to see if the worldwide gross collections of the film can come close to 400 crore including the collections from the Chinese Box Office.

Note - Final Numbers will be published later in the evening.
