SRK's Film Dunki Opening Day (Day 1) Box Office Collection indicate an first day collections of around 27.5 crores which is the 7th biggest opening day collection of 2023. PIC Chains has scored around 14.75 crores on first day.
Dunki has scored a Decent to Good Opening Day considering the genre and a Thursday release but not when you have names like Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani on board. The film needs to hold on well tomorrow and on Saturday to utilize the 10 day period till New Year.
Dunki is Shah Rukh Khan's Fifth Highest Opening Day behind Jawan, Pathaan, Happy New Year and Chennai Express and Rajkumar Hirani's Second Highest Opening Day Collections behind Sanju.
Dunki has performed better in SRK strong hold territories like West Bengal, Nizam and Mysore circuit. The film has performed decently in Delhi NCR belt but it could have been better for this combination film.
Dunki is average in Mumbai circuit as well and it should have done better with this combo. Surprisingly, Punjab is below average for the content as well as the genre of the film.
The film will lose shows tomorrow to Salaar but that is not a major issue since it will have enough shows and screens to collect numbers at the box office since Dunki is not operating at that high level right now.
The film has a huge holiday period ahead which suits the genre and audience demographic of the film but the word of mouth has to be favorable enough to utlize the period.
